Free range egg information
Carpe Diem Farms free range eggs are laid by pasture fed free range hens that scratch constantly in open pasturelands. They have the sun on their backs to warm them and spend the day looking for bugs, scratching, foraging, hanging out with their mates and of course, laying their delicious golden yolked full of goodness free range egg.
We are a registered farm which means that our processes, farm buildings and livestock are reviewed for best practice by the government department the Ministry for Primary Industries. (MPI) Our registration number is CDF001 and our audit standard is approved each year. This means that we can sell our eggs to parties that will on sell them, like retailers and restaurants.
We can also sell our eggs directly ourselves and we do this through Farmers Market Taranaki each Sunday morning, rain or shine, we are there to sell our eggs at super reasonable prices and support our local community who also support us.
The vibe at Farmers Market Taranaki is fun and a good time is usually had by all who attend. Lots of good wholesome freshness to be found at the local gathering of farmers. Of course it also gives us the opportunity to take our boots off and put our town shoes on for a while and sometimes when the going gets tough it reminds us of why we do it all.
